Well my last birthday was the best bday as a grown up b/c my hunny surprised me with gifts I didn't think I was going to get, them he took me out to diner and last but not least we went
clubbing with some friends I've not seen in a while. So I guess to me that's the way to spend your birthday....
I used to love to go out w/ a group of people and do it big... but now I would rather just go to dinner w/ my hub. Oh, and I prefer if it has cacktails involved.
Me too freesia. I use to be big on huge parties, but now I prefer doing something with the hubby and or going out with my closest friends for brunch.
One of my favorite birthday's was when my roommate had my closest friends over for Thai food. AND it was a Power Puff Girl theme cause I loved them . Then the doorbell rang, so I went to open the door to find about 30 of my friends outside who
shouted HAPPY BIRTHDAY. They all rushed in, we danced Merengue and Salsa, and had a house party!

I like to do a little of everything.. something just for me as a present to myself...spa treatment or even a long bubble bath with candles and a glass of champagne or wine.. a nice dinner with
the significant other and then maybe out with friends or family earlier in the day for lunch..
Now with the kids though its more like the hubby takes me to Denny's for my free meal and the the kids make me a card and then burst into the bathroom knocking the candles into the bath,
getting my handmade card wet and spilling my champagne. Fun fun! Just kidding..kinda sorta.

I usually go with flowers, homemade cards, and chocolates from Hubby and the boys -- plus some special alone time for myself (just to relax; this stay-st-home-mom rarely ever gets any quiet
time), and then a nice, homemade dinner (hubby is quite a good little chef) and alone time with the Hubster.
(I'm not big on presents, but hubby often picks out something extra romantic, such as a handwritten poem, scrolled and tied inside a bottle or some such sweet thing.)
